J.L. Verhi, of Portland, officiating. Interment was at Idlewilde cemetery. Mrs. Chapman, who had lived in Hood River for more than 26 years, is survived by her husband, Robert C. Chapman, of Hood River; sons, William, of Sunnyside, Wash.; Herman, of Yakima and Melvin, of this city, and two daughters, Thelma and Viola, both of this city. Two brothers, Herman and Arthur are living in Portland. --------------------------------------- The Hood River County Sun, Hood River, OR., January 4, 1939, page 6 “Death Overtakes Local Residents” ELSIE AGNES CHAPMAN Born in Switzerland in 1879, Mrs. Elsie Agnes Chapman died Tuesday at her home three miles south of Hood River. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Chapel. Rev. J.L. Verlin of Portland will conduct the service. Survivors are her husband, Robert C. Chapman, Hood River; sons, William R., Sunnyside, Wash.; Herman E., Yakima; and Melvin E., of Hood River; daughters, Thelma B. Chapman, Hood River, and Viola F. Chapman, Hood River.
