The Dalles Chronicle February 2, 2003 (Text Only) The building on Third Street was the first home of C.H. Urness Motors, founded in 1946. Lots of folks knew this one, and most recognized the winged horse on the pumps as a logo for Mobilgas. Lots os extras came with the calls. Jake Grossmiller said the cars in the photo are a Ford, a Studebaker, a Ford roadster and a Plymouth. Lee Agidius said his uncle, Walt Agidius, worked at the gas station for many years. His Grace, the Rt. Rev. Rusty Kimsey (Ret.) calling both for himself and his cousin Duff Kimsey, said the station was owned by his uncle, Dolph Kimsey. Ruth Radcliffe said the gas station was later converted to Stewarts Real Estate and her husband worked there many years. Several other folks nentioned that behind the gas station, next to the alley, was a small building where Harry Morioka had his first radio repair shop, in the days before television.
