She was the wife of John Duckwall, president of Duckwall Bros., pioneer local fruit dealers. She had returned last May from a European tour and had become ill on the trip. She was born in Kiel, Germany, 53 years ago. She came to America 51 years ago, arriving at Hood River as a young child. Funeral services as announced by Anderson Funeral Home, will be held Thursday in the Asbury Methodist Church and will be conducted by Rev. R.A. Fedje at 2 p.m. Survivors are her husband, John Duckwall; three sons, John W., Richard A., and Charles Robert, of Hood River; two daughters, Dorathy D. and Marjorie J., Hood River; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Calkins, Portland, and Mrs. Marie Masiker, Hood River; and three brothers, Hugo Paasch and Fred Paasch, Hood River, and William Paasch, Phoenix, Ariz.
