SOCIAL NEWS pages 63 - 67 Informal Party Miss Harriet Schrum was hostess at a dancing party given at the Vogt hall Monday evening, November 27, in honor of Miss Lela Hecker who is soon to leave for California. Those present were the Misses Lela Hecker, Eunice Bolton, Beryl Calbreath, Arline Loomis, Zelda Schrum, Clara Morganson, Doris Hanson, Marie Oakman, Malina Harris, Verla Miller, and Harriet Schrum. The Messrs. Robert Van Orman, Ronald Van Orman, John Hanson, Everett Mann, Orville Mann, Henry Maier, Graydon Calbreath, Guy Phetteplace, Arnold Harris, Fonrose Hazlett, Loren Hecker, and Cecil Chrisman ------------------------- Entertain The Junior Play Cast Miss Diffley and Miss Elveta Miller were hostesses at a dancing party Friday evening, December 1, at the home of Mrs. Dolly Johnston, for the members of the Junior Play cast and a few invited guests. Dancing and cards were the diversions of the evening. Before refreshments were served, dainty place cards with an appropriate line from the play were given out. In addition to the hostesses and the cast, which included Arville Kretzer, Helen Toomey, Eleanore Dickenson, Beulah Esping, Verla Miller, William Ketchum, Walter Emerson, Harry Wickman, Wilbur Stadelman, Paul Schiller, Floyd Cook and Elbert Kirk, Helen Williams, Crystal Wilcox, Eunice Doyle, Orlo Bagley of Vancouver, Washington, Guy Phetteplace, Addie Wray, Audrey Vogel, and Everett Wilkinson were invited. -------------------------- Unique Party The Girls' Friendly Society of St. Paul's were entertained at the W.V. Chambers home Friday evening, December 1. The house was prettily decorated with streamers and lanterns. Games, dancing, and story-telling furnished amusements for the guests. Each guest was given a small green cap and told to impersonate some character in the Robin Hood fables. The guests were then lead to the dining room which was attractively decorated in Robin Hood green, where refreshments were served. Members of the society who were present were: the Misses Margaret Hix, Georgia Merrifield, Freda Marsh, Mary Van Vactor, Ila Sheffer, Helen Pruyne, Gwenith Wilkinson, and Margaret Chambers with Dorothy Carpenter, Nadine Stone, and Adelaide Ketchum as invited guests. ----------------------------------- Younger Set Entertained The home of Harold Nelson was the scene of a very pretty party Friday evening, November 17. Games, cards, and music furnished entertainment for the guests. Special musical selections were given by Miss Dorothy Rand. Refreshments of sandwiches, cake, chocolate, ice cream and candy were served by Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Hurdle. The guest list included the Misses Dorothy Rand, Della and Mary Driskell, Freda Marsh, Elizabeth Browne, Hazel Newbill, Helen Aldrich, Ruth Star, and Jacquetta Moorehead. The Messrs. Jay Rorick, Roy Irwin, Steryl Boothby, Ward French, Albert Forman, Fred Loomis, Lewis Denny, and Harold Nelson. ---------------------------- George Stadelman Gives Party George Stadelman was host to a number of his young friends at a party given at his home Saturday evening, November 25. Games were played during the evening and refreshments were served. Those who enjoyed the e veing were: jacquetta Moorehead, Mary Driskell, Lillian Malloy, Elizabeth Browne, Hazel Newbill, Della Driskell, Freda Marsh, LewisDenny, Albert Forman, Steryl Boothby, Fred Loomis, Morris Gumbert, Frank De Vaney, Jay Rorick and George Stadelman. ------------------------- Pleasant Evening Miss Verla Miller entertained a few of her friends at her home Friday evening, November 17. Dancing and cards were enjoyed during the evening. Those present were: Marie Oakman, Evelyn Edmunson, Verla Miller, William Myers, Arnold Harris and Thorman Smith.
