I have discovered they can be the best source sometimes and they are usually delighted to help. I have two early Oregon deaths 1906 & 1911 in Wasco, Sherman Co. They were buried in Portland, but there are no death certificate or even a noticeable grave left. One day I started telephoning the various Portland cemeteries determined to find something out about my great great grandmother. Riverview Cemetery actually had copies of the Internments and were happy to send them to me in Germany. So good luck, if you try this angle. Sara
