The Dalles Chronicle May 4, 2003 (Text Only) Just about everybody knew that the sheriff featured in last week's paper was Harold Sexton, who served from 1939 to 1953, and later became a U.S. Marshall. His father, Felix Sexton, had been sheriff 1902-1906. Correct guessers included......Rick Cantrell (a former sheriff himself). Loye Ann May remembered the beautiful horse. Maggie Brown recalled him riding the horse up Cherry Heights Road and Mary Carol Wallace said her uncle Joe Henricks was a former deputy.
