Surnames: Patton, Bahem, Webb, Lively, Lutz, Turner Mary Luella Patton, 89, a resident of The Dalles, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at a local care facility. She was born March 26, 1914, in Dallas, the youngest of four children to Walter Donald and Delia Christina (Bahem) Webb and came to The Dalles as a child. She attended local schools and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1933. She married John Melvin Patton on October 26, 1934, and they made their home in The Dalles for over 20 years before moving to Hood River (Oregon) for several years. She worked as a cook in public schools in Hood River and The Dalles as well as having done catering services. She and her husband served as pastors of the Faith and Truth Outreach Center (The Little Chapel) for over 40 years. He died in May 2000. She enjoyed cooking, Bible study and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children and their families; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Esneda Patton, Beaverton (Oregon); David and Patricia Patton, Oregon City (Oregon); Duane and Teresa Patton, The Dalles; daughters and sons-in-law, Dena and Richard Lively and Marlene and Hugo Lutz of The Dalles; a sister, Ressie Patton, Turner (Oregon); 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Edna and a brother Lester. A service in celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, the First Christian Church, Eighth and Court Streets in The Dalles. Dan Patton will preside, assisted by the Reverend Howard Walbran. Private entombment will be held at the Oddfellows Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the J. Melvin and Mary L.
