Surnames: Nunnally, Abney, Torres John Jay Albert Nunnally, 83, a resident of Cleveland, Mississippi, and a former resident of The Dalles, died in a Cleveland hospital on May 24, 2003. He was born February 13, 1920, in Carroll County to John and Winnie Nunnally. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Theo Fayrene Faye Abney on April 20, 1940 in Cleveland. He was a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in The Dalles and was a charter Member of Providence Baptist Church in Hood River. He worked for C.P. House as a serviceman and worked for many years for Petrol Lane Gas Company in California and Oregon and retired from Lowry Tims in Cleveland. Survivors include his wife, Theo Fayrene; one son, Jerry Clark Nunnally and His wife, Sue, in Alaska; one daughter, Janice Anita Nunley Torres, Cleveland; Two brothers, Harold Nunnally, Santa Rosa, California and Charles Nunnally and His wife, Ruth, in North Carolina; nine grandchildren, including Michael Nunley and his wife, Sherri, Hood River (Oregon) and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland with Brother Steve Maughan officiating. Burial will follow at Delta Heights Memorial Gardens.
