Greetings! The GFO DNA Interest Group will meet at 10 am until noon on July 27 at the Genealogy Forum of Oregon, 11th and Division (1505 SE Division) in the basement of the Ford Building. This topic is about mapping your chromosomes using the autosomal test from either 23andMe or Family Tree DNA. We will start at the beginning again and hopefully it will be a bit more simplified. Later this week (probably Thurs) I will post the handout at the GFO website: www.gfo.org Click on the calendar for Saturday and for our meeting to go to the link for the handout. Please bring it with you as there is too much to have copied. Bring your laptop and your kit and password so you can work online. There are some computers available if you get there quickly enough.or you can look over someone's shoulder. Parking is a pain, but all the lots are still open. Carpool if you can. If anyone needs a ride from the area of SE 36, south of Woodstock or wish to come to my house, you can ride with me. Email me for when to be there. 11th Street south of Division is temporarily two-way so you can get in and out of the lot. This will be the case until they are done. The schedule is to be done Aug 4; however, in speaking with the workers yesterday they feel they may be done earlier. NOTE: The October meeting will take up where this one leaves off. If you are interested in the basics of testing for all the major tests, come to the GFO half-day seminar Aug 24. There is a charge for this, but sign up early. Bring a friend! See you there, E If you do not hear from me in a timely manner, just write again...I was buried in email.
