The Poor Farms of Illinois News has recently been reported that the grounds of The Cook County Poor Farm are being saved as a forest preserve. Many but not all of the counties had a similar farm (although not as large as this one, of course) while other counties arranged a different method of tending the people who were not able to support themselves.
