OHS is pretty stuffy about their material in my dealings with them. They have to make copies and are expensive. much stuff is in stacks not available to see without worker getting it for you. Photos are hard to get to and expensive to copy. Just not user friendly place. They claim they are keeper of oreg historical treasures and must protect them, and for the real treasures I agree, but their definition of treasures different than mine. I did a lot of Oregon Trail research 4 years ago and many of their treaures I asked for copies of were copies of originals. and they put them through fast feed copier. I was member for many years but quit in recent times.
