Ellen Benedict passed away on Sunday. The following was sent from her daughter Alice who was in Oregon to attend the C.A.R. Conference with Ellen and was still in Portland with her parents: >On Saturday I visited with my brother, Mark. When I got home around 11 pm >mom was still up getting something to eat. We talked, laughed and one of >the last things we talked about was the OR Trail CAR newsletter, tatting, >and entering into the American Heritage Contest for this coming year. I >teased her some and then went to bed. Dad was not aware that I had come >home and was in bed. He found her in a doll like manner and called 911. I >had a dream that someone was telling me that mom had a stroke. I didn't >wake up until later (around 4 am) I walked downstairs and all of the >lights were on, and no one was home. I got a call that Mom was in the >hospital and my brother, Mark went to the hospital. Later that day my >brother Earl joined us. Mom died peacefully at 4:16 pm on the 26th of >June. She never woke up and her last words were those that she had spoken >to me. >Please do send replies to me at: [email protected]<mail to:[email protected]> I >have been printing these out and showing them to dad. It has been a >comfort for him. > >Thank you again, >Alice Knapp
