Mim, I don't doubt what you heard, but all three of our cards were canceled within the last year - yet each had been used to check out books and tapes between 13 and 20 months prior to cancellation. I think that it is clear that the library may not be consistent about policy. I really miss our old library director, Ginny. It's too bad we let her go, and then replaced her with someone we had to pay much more for - we could have had the best if we had rewarded her properly! FYI- Ginny is still playing in the One More Time Around Again Marching Band. She came back to perform at Rose Festival time. When we talked, she said she couldn't give up her spot in the band!
