I >suppose it is possible that some were indeed just >plain missed by someone who was in a hurry or >something transcribing the census? > Nathan The big explanation here is how well the transcriber can read the handwriting of years ago, how good the film is etc. Heritage Quest did something special with the film to increase its readability when they scanned it and put it onto CD and the folks used the CD's I was told rather than the old bad films.
