The Computer SIG will be having our bi-monthly meeting this Saturday, October 20th starting at 9:30 and going till 11:30. The presenter will be Peggy Baldwin demonstrating how to use spreadsheets for genealogical research. Excel in particular. This should be an interesting topic, since it is working outside of conventional genealogical software programs. Years ago when I bought my first computer, it was supposed to make my life easier. I encountered the term "spreadsheet".--so this thing can also help make my bed? No. A wake up call. "We are no longer in Kansas!" The computer and the software that controls them, is an entirely new way to look at and organize information, which we as genealogists, accumulate massive amounts of. Peggy's presentation will give us more tools for coordinated research and organization. Well worth your time. Be there! Following the Computer SIG, the Master Genealogist Software Users Group will have their meeting starting at Noon and continuing until 2 PM. Once again it will be an open discussion between attendees. There has been no recent update of the program. I continually stumble upon new features as I do my recording, but not enough insights to make a presentation. Have you some of those? Come and let's share them. Roger Ostrom, Coordinator, Computer SIG; Coordinator TMG SUG Daphne Garrison, Coordinator Computer SIG
