Five more states are now searchable in the 1940 Census. They are Alabama, North Dakota, South Dakota, Maine and Indiana. The indexing is now over 68% completed. Another seven states are at 100% and are in the process of being made available. Twenty states are left to work on. Still time to join in the fun of indexing. The Illinois Genealogical Society has posted a list of the completed states.
