the June meeting of the Illinois Interest Group--9:30-11:30 The topic of the day is: ³Places I¹ve Seen in Illinois² combined with ³Places I¹d Like to See in Illinois² Some of the group has been lucky enough to actually get to Illinois where they may have been able to do some researching... and certainly were able to see some sights/sites that they can tell the others about. Have you researched there? What County? What did they have that really caught your eye? Did you get to the public library? to the genealogy society? to the historical society? the local cemetery? the appropriate courthouse? a museum in the area? to the local tourist traps? Plan to tell what you saw and whether it was wonderfulwell worth adding to our ³to do bucket list² or maybe not so much but another thing you experience that was worth the bucket list might be _______ Have you been unable to get there as yet? Then what would you like to see in particular? What county? What town? What tourist-type place? Where did you hear about it? Why do you think it would be interesting? Does it have anything to do with your family research? Or is it interesting for another reason? If you can bring picture[s] about it to share around the table, that would be good. The format will be informal discussion...with all taking turns at listening and tossing in their 2-cents worth as the morning goes. Hopefully someone will be able to make a list of places mentioned so that we can have a written list of what to see when next we go to Illinois. Kristy
