Not to beat a dead horse on this issue- just wanted to share. My grandfather was born abt 1880 in Corvallis, Benton, OR. He was #8 in a large family of Oregon pioneer parents. He lied about his age for years and really didn't know for sure how old he was. Some of his siblings were almost a generation older. When it came time to deal with Social Security, they had a heck of a time figuring out how old he was and it took notorized statements from others to compile evidence to determine the date that would be used from that time forward. The best part is that he was born on the 4th of July! Patti
