    1. Re: [GFO] Problems accessing some States at Genforum
    2. This is strange. I am getting error messages too. Paulina In a message dated 4/14/2012 10:30:14 A.M. I've done this for several years without paying a subscription fee or any other charge. This is a free membership. When you sign up you are just issued a username and password, and can post to any catagory without having to subscribe to each one individually. Today, I got the following error message when I tried to access Washington, and Clark County: - - - - - - "Error 403 Forbidden You are not authorized to view this page You might not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials you supplied. If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page, please try to contact the Web site by using any e-mail address or phone number that may be listed on the genforum.genealogy.com home page. You can click Search to look for information on the Internet." - - - - - - I checked my access to all the other states on the list in the section for "Regional, US States," and found the same error message for me on 13 other states. For Alabama through Arkansas and from Tennessee through Wyoming, with the exception of Washington D.C., I got the same error message. These are the first few and the last few on the list of states. I'm able to access all the other states. So this doesn't seem logical not being able to access 13 out of 50. When I clicked on my name as "Posted by" to see my email address and access my posting history, the same error message came up about my not having permission to view the information. This should NOT happen. I went to the Genforum Home Page and clicked on General Topics, General Genealogy, Genealogy.com General Questions Forum and followed the messages posted by Jeanne Flowers regarding "What happened to my subscription?" An H. R. Worthington tried to answer her question, but nothing H. R. suggested worked. Jeanne did everything he suggested. Jeanne's question was posted 3/28/12. Jeanne had gone My Genealogy and Ancestry for help but didn't get any. This looked similar to the problem I'm having. Although I was able to access this section and read postings by Jeanne and H.R., I got the same error message above when I clicked on "Post New Message." I can't even contact an administrator to ask a question. There is no subscription fee or user fee charged to people for Genforum. I'm at a loss as to why I can't access a few states and counties, and I can't even access the information about myself (email address, posting history) when I've been able to do so all along. I was able to post a message to he Multnomah County, Oregon page on 4/12, but today I can't do that either. I can only get into the Multnomah County page and read messages posted. Is anyone having the same problem and has it been resolved for you? Does anyone know if Genforum is experiencing problems, making adjustments or changes to their site?
