    1. [GFO] Writers' Saturday at the GFO!!
    2. Hi Everyone, The GFO Writers' Forum will meet on Saturday, April 14th, from 11:45 until 1:45 p.m. We will discuss Tool 29 Workshop: "Foreshadow Dramatic Events and Powerful Conclusions" from Roy Peter Clark's Writing Tools: 50 Essential Strategies for Every Writer. And, of course, share our writing with each other. Feel free to bring you lunch, so you can stay to support the GFO Writing Contest winners at the monthly meeting at 2 p.m! And, to see what promises to be a very interesting presentation by Lisa Kagan, who is a featured contributor of My Words are Gonna Linger, The Art of Personal History will share her process for uncovering family history and creating an illustrated family history book. Lisa will offer tips for getting started in creating your own illustrated family history book. Using genealogical research as a foundation for their projects, participants will explore how to uncover hidden family treasures, conduct interviews, write and illustrate their book. Hope to see you there!! Peggy Peggy Baldwin, MLS Family Passages LLC www.family-passages.com 503-916-9410 Pacific Northwest & Oregon Trail

    1. [GFO] Writers' Forum Saturday at the GFO!!
    2. Hi Everyone, The GFO Writers' Forum will meet on Saturday, May 12th, from 11:45 until 1:45 p.m at the Genealogical Forum of Oregon. Everyone is welcome, whether you have participated before or not. This is your chance to get started writing or improve your writing, whether you are writing for yourself or for others. We learn about good writing techniques -- write and read what we write to each other. Without exception, everyone who has participated in this group over the last seven years writes better than they did when they started. This year we are working with Roy Peter Clark's Writing Tools: 50 Essential Strategies for Every Writer published by Little, Brown and Company in 2006. Each year we work with a book, but this particular book has been the most helpful of any book we worked with. Now we are working more specifically on language and at this meeting we will be working with Tool 30 Workshop: "To Generate Suspense, Use Internal Cliffhangers."" Feel free to bring you lunch, so you can stay to monthly meeting at 2 p.m! Hope to see you there!!
