    3. A. J. Price, 1866-1957, grew up in NW Sherman County, OR. In the 1930s and 1940s he wrote a number of articles for the Sherman County Journal about the early days of settlement in what was then Wasco County, OR. His folks operated a stage stop at Sand Spring S of Biggs, his father, Samuel Price, having come to present-day Sherman County in 1862. In 1894 the remains of a burial were exposed by the wind at the mouth of Spanish Hollow, Biggs [Junction], on the Columbia River in Sherman County, OR. This is an unusually sandy site, known for the sand blowing and drifting, as high as second story windows in the early days. Samuel Price boxed the remains and gave notice of their finding, speculating that it was a grave dating to 1843. Disposition of the remains is unknown. No further information. No research offered.
