Polk County, Oregon. b. 1816 Tompkins County, New York. Arrived Oregon 25 August 1852; Settled Claim 24 August 1855. Md. Almira (ElmiraYule - Yale) 31 July 1853) Oregon City, Oregon Territory. Affidavit: Frederick Waymire, Isaac Zumwalt and Stephen K. Waymire. This is eveidently a second wife but gives you a place to search before he came to Oregon. You can order the complete Donation Land Claim record from the Oregon State Archives by writing or sending them an e-mail at their online site. Copies are 25 cents a page, plus postage. In an extract of the 1880 Polk County census I find the family living in Dallas - George 63, Almira, 62 and Ellen, 23. I also find George buried in the Dallas Cemetery - d. January 11, 1890.
