Lee Library,BYU at Provo, UT. CPL = The California Pioneer List is a list of settlers to California who migrated to or were born in California prior to 1880 (included in the 1880 California Census) and obtained from those sent(e-mailed) directly from individuals doing genealogical research. <http://cpl.cagenweb.com/index.htm > or < http://cpl.cagenweb.com/cpl_list.htm > Note: The year of settlement in California is not a true indication of arrival on the West Coast. To determine the year of arrival and whether or not it was an overland journey, one needs to contact the submitter of the name. This can be done by accessing the CA GenWeb website All emigrants cited from this list have a “?” to indicate further research is necessary to validate an O. T.connection. Oops! I didn't get an answer back on my query about the DOUGLASS family who reportedly came to Oregon by Oxen pulled covered wagon in 1852... If they didn't come in 1852, can someone tell me when they did come? Or advise me how to research this? The family history states they came in 1852 but I can't find evidence of that. The Douglass family was headed up by father John DOUGLASS from Wells co., IN. Wife Elizabeth died somewhere along the Platte river...Family members were daughters and husbands, Lewelling, Jones, Dunbar and others. They were very early settlers of Troutdale, OR Doneva Shepard in Gresham, OR http://maxpages.com/donevas OR my entire genealogy database, 40,000+ names http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=donevanell (be sure entire URL fits in your Address bar) - ------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
