    3. Whew! What a blessing you guys are! This morning I turned on my E-mail to find some really wonderful information/help on my DOUGLASS family who (reportedly) arrived in Oregon in Nov. 1852. I was really starting to 'sweat' (do women do that?) because I had to have an article submitted for publication in the Troutdale Historical Society newsletter on the DOUGLASS family...TOMORROW! And nothing I could find gave me evidence they had been on a wagon train coming to Oregon in the year 1852. As yet I do not know what wagon train they were on but have evidence they were here and after the article is out I will work on what wagon train they were on. I have a wealth of information about their trip and will (later) get it to the proper places so their experience can be documented. I found an enormous amount of information on another DOUGLASS family that settled in the area of Eagle Creek, (not so very far from Troutdale) but can not see any tie to the Troutdale DOUGLASS's except the n! aming pattern (John's, James, etc.) and the close proximity to Troutdale. The DOUGLASS family of Troutdale are like the SKIDMORE, YEON, PITTOCK, etc families of Portland. They were early settlers who did a great deal to carve civilization out of wilderness and their plight needs to be recognized and recorded.
