A few findings from my recent 1853 research. here in Portland area. and maybe i am last of a group like this to know this Oreg Hist Soc Libr. They have a large set of manuscript files about Oreg trail. Folders with 2 to 20 pages of info. Also a number of books/diaries in the stacks. both require OHS staff to get them. They have card files for these, chronological and alphabetical. OHS has OPAT index and books. I had never heard of OPAT (Oregon Pioneer Assoc Transactions) They quit about 1928 but a lot of Oregon Trail stuff in them OHS has 4 or 5 Oregon trail bibliographies, one has a list of many of the overlanders saying in which diary they can be found. These are out front on the shelves Oregon City Library. They have the OPAT books though no index, better hours and easier parking Oak Lodge Libr. They have several Oregon Trail diaries on the shelf.
