My only proven line to you is through DAVIS and even that is very indirect. But, there seem to be connections between who I associate with my Zebedee SHELTON (arr 1846) and your line. Going on the assumption that these settlers traveled in groups, I've been researching other names associated with mine trying to find out where Zebedee's parents came from. Unfortunately, I haven't had much success. For example, Absalom HEMBREE and Thomas M WRIGHT signed Zebedee's land donation claim, but I can make absolutely no connection. I suspect Zebedee SHELTON'S family may also have come from NC. I'm working on one giant puzzle. Are any of these other names familiar to you? His father, WILLIAM MANCIL CRISP was a Major in the War of 1812 and was supposedly promised the Governorship of the new OREGON Territory when he died suddenly in 1849 (shortly after arrival). He and his wife Hannah WILSON were maried on May 18, 1809 in North Carolina. Most of their married children also came to Yamhill County.
