Hi Oregon Trail Listers: Don't get real hung up on the names of Counties were your early Oregon people may have lived. The present day Counties of Oregon are very much different from those of 100 years ago. My grandmother Nora May Montgomery was born in Lamonta, Wasco Co., OR in 1875. In 1895 Lamonta was in Crook Co., OR. My father Geroge Douglas Houk was born in Lamonta, Jefferson Co., OR in 1909. All three are the same town.
