Surnames: Morris, Bible, Rayon Edythe Ann Morris, 78, a resident of The Dalles, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at the local hospital. She was born June 26, 1923, in Talala, Oklahoma to Jasper Brady and Elizabeth Jane (Bible) Rayon. When she completed high school in 1941 she moved to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. She married Lee Robert Morris in Edinburg, Texas on December 21, 1946, and they remained in Texas until 1968. She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on July 5, 1957, in Houston, Texas. After a brief period living in Tillamook (Oregon) and Cornelius (Oregon) she moved to Forest Grove (Oregon) in September 1969 and worked in Portland for nine years. After 42 years of marriage her husband died in 1988, and she moved to The Dalles in August 1995. She was extremely active in her church congregation and also enjoyed watching the Portland Trailblazers. She is survived by her brothers, Charles E. and his wife Charlotte Rayon, The Dalles, Roy E. Rayon, Woodburn (Oregon), as well as by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in The Dalles. Disposition was by cremation.
