Surnames: Sexton, Michaud, Van Oss, Mayfield, Veldink Georgia Kathleen Sexton, 78, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care center on Monday, February 18, 2002. She was born April 25, 1923, in St. Ignatius, Montana, the younger of two daughters to George W. and Helen M. (Michaud) Van Oss. She lived in the St. Ignatius area until the early 1930s when her family moved to Portland. She graduated from Portland's High School of Commerce in 1941. She worked as a bookkeeper with an accounting firm until retiring 12 years ago and moving to The Dalles. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and enjoyed horseback riding and reading western books. Survivors include her children, Ray L. Sexton III and his wife, Diane, Round Rock, Texas; Michael L. Sexton, The Dalles; David L. Sexton, Bend (Oregon) and Linda L. Mayfield and her husband, Larry, The Dalles; 12 grandchildren and her sister, Willie Veldink, Portland. Private family services will be held at a later date. Private cremation was at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
