Surnames: Elliott, Knight, Dawkins, Ronbeck, Golden, Schill, DeLaughter, Lake, Dunn Armada "Lorene" Elliott, 79, a resident of The Dalles, died at the local hospital on Tuesday, February 12, 2002. She was born July 28, 1922, in Stuart, Oklahoma, the second of 12 children to Lonnie Edward and Lula Pearl (Knight) Dawkins. She married James Murphy "Tex" Elliott on October 16, 1937, in Mt. Vernon, Texas, and they moved to The Dalles in 1946. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her son, James H. Elliott and his wife, Carol, Kennewick, Washington; grandchildren, Shannon Ronbeck and Travis Elliott; step-grandchildren, Pam Golden and Garold Schill, her sisters, Joyce DeLaughter, Portland; Kathleen Lake, Boise, Idaho and Nina Dunn, Portland; her brothers, Lonnie and Edward Dawkins, The Dalles; and Stan Dawkins, Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Smith Callaway Chapel, 1 p.m., Saturday, February 16, with Reverend J.W. Jepson officiating. Interment will follow at The Dalles I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
