My Great Uncle said there was a baby born to his parents before (him he was born May 13 1919) that died in infancy. This supposedly happened in Astoria, OR between 1916 and that time. Parents would have been Franklin Arthur Cooley and Irene Dow Cooley. Is there somewhere to check those record? Pat in WA State
This link I keep in the list tag lines Oregon Archives http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/ , you can find a death certificate there , and other information if there is any. Pat: For some reason I just got the message that you sent on the 15th to the list regarding birth records. As you know it is against Oregon law to publish the birth records for 100 years, however, I have access to OREGON BIRTH RECORDS. If you contact me off list I will give you the scoop. Sharon: If you have access to the birth records, can you take a look at the surname Thuemler (can also be spelled thumler, thuemmler) Usually only one or two names come up with that surname, but I do have a lot of thuemmlers in Oregon. So rule out Bernard, Evan, Christina, Donald, Dorothy, Wayne, and Ruth. The remaining would be relatives that are unfamiliar to me and those are the ones I am interested in.... Thank you in advance.... --- Sharon Ryan <sharonor@aracnet.com> wrote: > Pat: > For some reason I just got the message that you sent on the 15th to the > list > regarding birth records. > > As you know it is against Oregon law to publish the birth records for > 100 > years, however, I have access to OREGON BIRTH RECORDS. Try ordering the death record for John Cooley, d Columbia County in Oregon, 15 OCT 1909, record #3012. While it's true that Columbia County does not extend to Astoria, this is the only death that even remotely fits your discription Order it from the Oregon Archives, who's address is in the body of this message.
