Surnames: Hall, Tutor, Huskey, Deulan, Washington, McKinley, Waldrop Lacy "David" Hall, 71, a resident of The Dalles, and formerly a long-time resident of Portland, died at the Oregon Veterans Home (The Dalles) on November 20, 2001. He was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi on November 10, 1930, one of 11 children to Lacy and Layla (Tutor) Hall. He grew up in Pontotoc, then moved to Portland in 1947. He worked as a car man for Burlington Northern Railroad for 45 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church and a charter member of the Portland Gateway Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with children. Survivors include his wife, Janice Irene Huskey Hall, whom he married on January 27, 1962 in Portland; his daughter, Tina Louise Deulan and her daughters, Valene and Heather, all of Portland; his brothers, Gailon and Charles Hall, Portland; and his sisters, Virginia Washington, Reedsport (Oregon); Frances McKinley, Idaho; Jane Waldrop, Mississippi and Patricia Hall, Portland. A memorial mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church on Saturday, November 24, at 11 a.m. Private cremation was held with interment of cremains in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Portland. Smith Callaway Chapel is in care of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Oregon Veterans' Home Trust Fund, 700 Veterans Drive, The Dalles, Oregon 97058.
