How can you get a death certificate that is newer than 50 years? How direct of family do you have to be? How do they ask you to prove it? How much does it cost? I'm desperate for a death certificate from 1961, and can't wait till 2011 to get it! Would this death in 1961 be listed in the index even though you can't access the certificate? Where would I find it? I searched at the archives building in Salem, but didn't see his name (Clarence S. BENNETT). I'm so stuck. Hello Katie....... I can't answer the one part of your question..... however there is a Clarence BENNETT listed in the Oregon Death Index that is on Ancestry.com..... If this is the Clarence that you are looking for it says that his spouse is Josephine......... I've included the Josephine BENNETT death info........ Hope this is of some help and good luck......
