PHirl WASN'T rude, he was trying to give Sue the best advice possible. All genealogists should have access (either on their desks or their computer screens) to an atlas or map showing counties. A "What county is Podunk in?" query should never be posted to a mailing list, in "netiquette" it is THIS that is considered rude. Sue is lucky this is a western list, she would have been flamed mercilessly on an eastern one. The people on this list are indeed kind and polite, and very tolerant.
