Surnames: Plucar, Schilling, Edwards, Irving, Ogden, McBee, Chambers, Bower, Gunderson Duella Joy Plucar, 66, a resident of Grass Valley (Oregon) and formerly of Portland died Friday, April 5, 2002, at the local hospital. She was born November 5, 1935, in Eugene (Oregon), the eldest of three children to Richard and Florence (Schilling) Edwards. Much of her childhood was spent at various logging communities in Oregon. She graduated from Grants Pass (Oregon) High School in 1953. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, traveling, home computing and, most of all, her family. In the 1970's she did volunteer work for Clackamas Community College and was a crisis hotline worker as well. She worked for AAA Auto Travel Club of Oregon for nearly 20 years until retiring in May 1999, at which time she and her husband moved to Grass Valley. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Kermit Plucar; brother, Duane "Bob" Edwards, and his wife, Judy, Oregon City (Oregon); sister, Sharon "Betsy" Irving, Portland; daughter, Joy Ogden, and her companion, Bryan Berggren, Fairfield, California; son, Rick McBee, and his wife, Michelle, Portland; son, Rocky A. Plucar, and his companion, Marsha Williams, Portland; son, Randy Chambers, and his wife, Lori, Puyallup, Washington; son, Ricky Plucar, and his companion, Marilyn Sparks, Portland; daughter, Connie Bower and her husband, Gary, Portland; daughter, Janel Gunderson, and her husband, Bill Rockaway Beach (Oregon); son, Michael Plucar, and his wife, Holly, Vancouver (Washington); son, Robert Plucar, and his wife, Carolyn, Vancouver; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and numerous friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the Rebekah Lodge in Grass Valley. Her brother-in-law Reverend Howard Plucar will preside, and a reception will follow. Private interment will be in the family plot at the Grass Valley Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to the Mid-Columbia Health Care Foundation, 1700 East 19th Street, The Dalles, Oregon 97058. Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
