All this talk of hospitals got me wondering... I have a death certificate from 1950 that says she died at the Portland Sanitarium. Where was that? Is it called something else now? Is there any way you could get records from them? (Records for ANYTHING, I am stuck.) The word "Sanitarium" sounds scary.. was it just a normal hospital or something else? Katie, I think this was the hospital that used to be called Portland San. and the one I was born at in 1955. It was at S.E. 60th and Belmont. The building is still there, but I'm not sure what it is now. I might be wrong, but I think that Portland Sanitarium is now Portland Adventist Hospital. It used to be on 60th & SE Belmont St. here in Portland but is now in another location in SE Portland.
