    3. My gggrandmother died in the Oregon State Hospital......then called Oregon State Asylum....Salem, Oregon. Also, one of her sons died there. In 1900....both of them. I visited the Oregon Archives and they brought me six books! There were three book for Women and three for men. Book for Admittance, one for records of their conditions, and one for their death. It was able to transcribe all the information on them. Very interesting. You cannot photocopy.....the books are very old, fragile, as well as too big! I believe (if I remember right) I found the page numbers from the Archives Webpage listings. Karol Gale

    3. Karol, Do they allow digital pictures? That is another thought for getting images. A library that I'd always thought was old and "stuffy" advised me to bring in a digital camera to get a copy of an article I was interested in a book they no longer allowed photocopies from ..... Just a thought for another time, in a similar situation ... Chris At 10:08 PM 4/8/2002 -0700, Karol Gale wrote: >I visited the Oregon Archives and they brought me six books! 3. I have not been refused using my camera yet. It is what I use if I cant get a photo copy. Also what I use when some one wants a article from one of my books on Oregon.
