    3. Surnames: Buckles, Alford Clay, Beck, Sibley, Bednarczyk Grace Marie Buckles Alford, 52, a resident of The Dalles, died at Mid Columbia Medical Center on thursday, April 4, 2002. She was born in The Dalles, Oregon, on March 22, 1950, the third of four children to Glen Lee and Dorothy Lucile (Clay) Buckles. She grew up in The Dalles, attended thompson and Dry Hollow Grade Schools and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1968. After high school, she moved to Hawaii for a short time, and then to Kenai, Alaska. She later returned to The Dalles, where she met her future husband, William Paul Alford. They married on June 18, 1981 in Reno, Nevada. They lived in The Dalles until moving to the Salem (Oregon) area in 1988, returning to The Dalles in 1998 to care for Grace's father. She attended The Dalles Church of God and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, yard work and tending to stray animals. She is survived by her husband, William "Bing" Alford; her son, Brian Glen Buckles and his wife, Julie; her grandson, Andy buckles; her father, Glen Buckles and her brothers, Dale Lee Buckles and his wife, Laura, and Darrell Warren Buckles, all of The Dalles; her sister, Glenda Lucile Beck and her husband, Greg, of Eagle River, Alaska; nephews, Jeff and Donald Buckles, Jason, Daniel and Mitchell Alford; nieces, Renee Sibley and Amy Bednarczyk and 5 great nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy, in June 1992. Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home on Monday, April 8, from 2 to 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on tuesday, April 9, at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at The Dalles Parklawn Cemetery.
