    3. Surnames: Chase, Perry, Reedy Lewis M. (Bill) Chase, age 87, a resident of Estacada, died Saturday, June 30, 2002. He was born in The Dalles on December 11, 1914 and was raised on the family homestead graduating from The Dalles High School. He married Leora Perry on May 6, 1939. He worked for local ranchers in the area. Lewis supported the World War II effort by heavy hauling, supplying the Pacific Northwest Military Establishments with supplies and fuel. He retired as a driver for Mayflower Farms, The Dalles division in 1971 and continued to farm the family homestead until October 2000, when he and his wife, Leora, moved to Estacada to be closer to family. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife Leora, Estacada, and his three children: Betty and Rhuel Reedy, of Puyallup, Washington, Melvin and Janis Chase of Myrtle Point, Donald and Marsha Chase of Estacada, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Bill Chase will be at Springwater Cemetery on Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. Pastor David Woodruff will be officiating. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. Estacada Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements.
