I'm looking for any cases involving women killing others during the 1800's in Oregon. This could mean they were defending themselves or their loved ones or it could mean they were tried and convicted for the crime of murder. I willing to look at cases that occurred in the early 1900's as back up material. So any of the readers out there in our far flung counties let me know what rumors you've heard, read about or seen in your research. I've already done MUCH research but would truly appreciate more stories from the eastern portion of the state. Thanks, Diane L. Diane and other's; Did you ever hear of the Murder of Little Mary Parker??? It seems that she was on the way to or from school in I think 1930's or early 1940's. May been in eastern Oregon (??. I had an uncle who worked in Logging camps and he was talking about it to my parents. I remember him telling that it was maybe 3 guys who killed her and maybe something about them rapeing her and putting her body in a gunny sack after??? He said that two of them were dead as he knew them. If so I am wondering why he didn't tell the police??? Also who or how did he know that 2 were dead and not the 3rd. one?? He never married and also had been in the WW I. So a vet. My Uncle died in Portland, Or in 1960' and is bur. in Tonasket , Wa. Cem. I saw an E mail posted in the Umatila Co. or. site abt. 1 yr. ago ref; to this so it may have been in that Co.in Or.???
