Hood are covered with trees blown down by winter storms in repetition of damage incurred in 1961. Hood River District Ranger Cranson Fosberg said he discovered the damage during his walk into the lake over the snow in early May. Stream water outlook for Wasco and Hood River counties remain near average according to W.T. Frost, snow survey supervisor for Oregon. A cool, wet May produced only average stream flow but primed the soils to near capacity. Snows that fell periodically during May have melted except at higher elevations. The minimum price support for 1962 - crop wheat in Wasco County will be $2.07 Les Fredrickson of the ASC County Committee announced this week. This compares with the county support rate at $1.98 for the 1961 wheat crop. Information of price support rates for wheat stored in terminals is also available at the ASC county office. 60 Years Ago, June 9, 1942 Re-election of Max Kaseberger, assistant manager of the local branch of the United States National Bank of Portland, as chairman of the Wasco County Chapter of the American Red Cross for the year of 1942 was effected last night at the annual membership meeting of the organization, held in the courthouse. His running time was 19 hours and 17 minutes. Bert Price of Canyon City, who left The Dalles 15 minutes later than McCarthy, finished the race on the winners heels arriving at 12:28.05 o'clock. Price won second money of $250. The fourteenth annual commencement exercises of The Dalles High school will be held this evening at 8 o'clock in the high school auditorium. Fourty five students of the class of 1922 will receive their diplomas. J.S. Landers, president of the normal school at Monmouth (Oregon), will give the commencement address.
