I'm wondering if someone can help me. I've been asked to try and contact the descendants of the following family. The family included the following Kaufman children: Loren, Allen Wayne, Ila May, baby sister, Glenna and a fifth unknown child. It is believed most of these children were born in The Dalles and they resided on Three Mile road. The children were placed into different foster homes and lost contact with one another. They had an uncle Willis Kaufman who was a cherry farmer in The Dalles. It is believed Glenna went to live with an aunt Hesse in California. These children's name may have been changed in the transistion to new homes. Loren left school in 1940 and would have graduated in 1941. I've found a couple of possible guardenship records mentioned on the Oregon State Archives genealogy listing that I have requested. Loren was killed during the Korean War and was given the Medal of Honor. He is being recognized July 4, 2002 in The Dalles when a new memorial will be dedicated to him and include all military persons. It is believed that Loren's brother Allen Wayne also served in the Korean War. He has not been heard from. We want to invite the descendants of the Kaufman family to the unveiling of the memorial. (The public is also invited.) If you have any ideas how to search for these descendants or make contact with them, please contact me at petew@netcnct.net Thanks for any ideas you have. Earline
