I remember the several inches of water at Jantzen Beach, but maybe it was 1946-47. rather than 1948. I do know it was late May or early June because i was going fom Toledo to Heppner to spent the summer with my aunt. School had just gotten out. And the Columbia Riv Hwy was closed.
