Thank you for your response. I have since found the William H. Gibson I was looking for in the 1920 Wallawa County Census. My next task is to try to locate obituaries, but one of the libraries have told me they don't do that nor does any of the other libraries in that county. Any ideas on that? The library told me that the local newspaper doesn't have the staff to do research. thanks again for you response. nicolle > There are 6 William H. Nicolle, You probably have received enough answers to your e-mail by now, but you might try the Oregon History Center here in Portland. They have a huge microfilm collection of old Oregon newspapers. they are especially good on small towns in Oregon. Another possibility is the University of Oregon, Knight Library. They also have an extensive collection of Oregon newspapers on microfilm. Good Luck! What is the address of the "Oregon History Center". I never heard of it before.
