    3. Harney under Grant County and Malheur under Baker County. A word of caution - nearly all settlements in both counties are "lost". Only Camp Harney in Harney County and Jordan Valley in Malheur County. As for the communities along the Idaho border, they are either mis-counted as part of Idaho or are "lost".     3. Wow, that reference to census transcription certainly helps. I have been plowing through 1870 census looking for one man in Oregon for days now. Please give my sincere thanks to those who are volunteering to do these transcriptions, making life a heck of alot easier for folks like me.
