I belong to a Lincoln County List where a woman like Earline is regularly transcribing obituaries. I look at them all, searching for names I recognize. I hope this woman, Mary Day, isn't intimidated into quitting her fine work. "The William C. I hope I'm not causing a problem but I would like to share my newspaper article story. Maybe someone hearing it will stop and reconsider just how important it is for the articles to get out there. In 1999 I sent a request to CALOSANG-List trying to find my father's family. I knew they had been in an accident in Los Angeles or vicinity sometime early in WWII. A kind gentleman on the group went to the trouble of doing some hands-on searching and found the article from the LA Times as well as the graves and death certificates of Lester, Donald and Mary Rose WORTHINGTON and their mother Tommie Jo. He still decorates their graves every year. The hardest part for me is knowing that without this accident I probably wouldn't be here today. Tommie was Dad's first wife and those babies were three of his four children from their marriage. The entire story gave me a lot of insight as to why my Dad was the way he was and why my oldest (half) sister felt the way she did about him. (She never quit blaming him for not being with them when the accident happened.) Wanda Worthington VanderVeen
