BIG VALLEY GAZETTE BIEBER, LASSEN COUNTY, CAL. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 1905 Word was received here Tuesday, says the Lake County Examiner, that an unknown sheepman of Silver Lake [Oregon] and a Mr. McKune, another Silver Lake sheepman, had some trouble over the range. The man went to McKunes camp about 20 miles east of Silver Lake and a shooting serape resulted, in which McKune had one of his thumbs shot off. The six shots that were fired, were said to be awarded, equally between the two combatants. Mr. McKune came to Paisley Monday to have his wound dressed. So far as we have heard, no arrests have been made.
