    3. Many, many thanks, CiCi, for your interesting message which I certainly appreciate and also have enjoyed learning that you and Mikki McBride are sisters. I've not corresponded directly with her but have often checked her Ancestry.com data in an attempt to piece together my own connection to several families on her website and have really found it helpful, so it's great to know that you are involved in that data too. There actually is also another TRIMBLE family who arrived very early in Oregon & show up in the 1850 Benton County census under the name of TRUMBULL (listed TRIMBLE 1860/1870 census) in which there are 5 children: Ben 14-IL; Charlotte 12-IL; Edmund 9-MO; Casper 7-IA; Mary J 3-IA. These children without any parents are listed as living in same HH of Abner DRUMM whose wife was Lydia TRIMBLE b.1809-1813-PA (also shown as Lydia TRUMBULL in some records). This Abner & Lydia md 1832-Tazewell Co.,IL. I have connections to this DRUMM family and wonder if you have also run into this TRIMBLE group? The daughter Charlotte Trimble mentioned above married William C Taylor 4-21-1851 in Benton Co. and there is a WPA Interview in which she gives brief profile naming her father as a Ben TRIMBLE but tells nothing further about him, only that her mother & a child died prior to arriving Oregon. Charlotte's older brother Ben filed ODLC #4083 in Benton Co. & states he arrived in OR Terry August 1! 848, but I've not found anything to prove how this TRIMBLE family fits into the overall picture. However, I have assumed the children's father Ben TRIMBLE must have been a brother to Lydia (TRIMBLE) DRUMM since the 5 children were living in the DRUMM household in 1850. Does this family ring any bells with you, CiCi, or with anyone else on OR List?? Census Record---J M POMEROY Hi Don, I'm Mikki's sister and do most of the data collection lately (my nickname is CiCi). Thanks for letting me know the connection. I follow the Trimble's to try and find more info on the Payne sisters: 3 of them married Trimble's, and I assumed (incorrectly, I think) that all the Trimble's were brothers. However, at least one or two of these were brother to Edward Trimble that married Abarilla. Emeline Fuller (who wrote "Left by the Indians"), daughter of Abegal Payne and Hiram Trimble, spoke of staying with her cousins when arriving in OR. In the 1860 census, she appears with Martha Jane and James Pomeroy. Elizabeth Payne, who married Edward Trimble, lost her husband in a similar fashion to Abarilla's loss, and both Elizabeth and Abarilla had a son Horace. So, I'm beginning to think that either they are the same person, or someone made a mistake about there being an Elizabeth. There is a fellow (Dr. Robert Barnes in Batavia, IL) that has followed up with research on Elizabeth's father, Christopher Columbus Payne, and has written a small book about him. I'll contact him and see if he has any more info. One of many puzzles to pursue!
