July 27, 2007 Page 3 CAR SMASHES CHUTE - A coal chute leading to the basement of The Dalles hospital was smashed Sunday evening when a driverless automobile hit, according to accident reports filed at city police headquarters. The car, left parked on a driveway at the top of a rise some distance away by Charles Rockhill of 511 Liberty street, coasted downhill into the chute when bumped by a second machine proceeding out of the driveway, it was reported. George A.W. Sparks, Commodore apartments, was driving the second machine.
