Hi, In 1876, Marjara (Polly Ann) Dean and her five daughters moved from Calaveras county, CA to Oregon and settled in the Flourney Valley area of Douglas county. Polly Ann's daughters were Mary C. (Cummins) Ishmael, Sarah F. Cummins, Louisa Cummins, Virinda Cummins, and Martha Cummins. Mary married John W. Ishmael in Calaveras county before the move. Sarah F. Cummins married Lewis M. Archambeau in Oregon in 1878. I suspect that Virinda may have married an man named Gilbert in Oregon. I have no idea what happened to Louisa and Martha. Some of the Ishmael descendants later returned to California and lived in the Los Angeles area. The Archambeaus later moved to an area near Stayton. That is either in Marion or Linn county. Polly Ann had remarried John Dean in Calaveras county, CA in 1871, but I have found no record that they were ever divorced. I assume that he just left him when the family moved to Oregon. Before marrying John Dean, Polly Ann was married to James Cummins. Before that her name was Man or Mann. There was a man named William Mann living near Polly Ann in Calaveras county. He may have been her brother or her son by a previous marriage. He may also have moved to Oregon with her family. If you are researching any of these families, please contact me.
